Awards and Accomplishments

Our Science Olympiad Team place first in the south Macomb competition. This is doubly impressive considering this is the first year the students and parent coaches have participated in this event.

In 2008 a second grade student won third place in The Detroit Zoo’s Year of the Frog Youth Art Competition and a fourth grade student won first place in the  Mt. Clemens Historical Commission Essay Contest.

The Michigan Education Association, the Federation of Teachers and the Kellogg Company "Out Of This World Essay Contest" was a creative writing contest with over 70,000 entrants. A student from Mount Clemens Montessori was a First Place winner.

Macomb County Bar Association Law Day, organized by representatives in the legal field realized the talents of students from Mt. Clemens Montessori Academy for their depiction of "law" through written as well as artistic media. Mt. Clemens Montessori Academy regularly places in the third through fifth grade categories. In 2007 students received first, second and third place in the 4th grade contest. Two fourth grade students placed 1st and 3rd in the 2008 contest. A Mt. Clemens Montessori Faculty member was recognized and awarded the "Golden Apple Award" from the Macomb County Bar Association in 1998, 1999, and 2007.

The Detroit News and Barnes & Noble sponsor a poster contest for young readers from the Metro Detroit area. Mount Clemens Montessori Academy students placed as follows:

  • 1998 Mt. Clemens Montessori took First and Second place in the 3rd grade out of 3,817 entrants.
  • 1999 Mt. Clemens Montessori took Second place in the 4th grade out of 5,694 entrants.
